Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties that are slightly larger than the burger buns.

Cook the Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Heat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Assemble the Cheeseburger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns (Optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickle slices, ketchup, and mustard to taste.

  3. 8

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
