Chill the Glass
Start by chilling your martini glass. Fill it with ice water and set it aside while you prepare the cocktail.

Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker, add the gin and dry vermouth. Fill it with ice cubes.

Stir or Shake
Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds to chill, or shake if you prefer a frothy texture.

Strain and Serve
Empty the ice water from your chilled martini glass. Strain the mixed cocktail into the glass.

Add an olive or a lemon twist as a garnish. Serve immediately.
