Margarita Mix (batch for 4 servings)

Glass Finishes & Garnish (for 4 servings)

Method

Margarita Mix (batch for 4 servings)

1

Juice and measure

Juice fresh limes until you have 6 fl oz of lime juice (about 6–8 medium limes). Measure the tequila, triple sec, and simple syrup into a large measuring cup or pitcher.

2

Combine and season

Pour 12 fl oz blanco tequila, 6 fl oz fresh lime juice, 4 fl oz triple sec, and 2 fl oz simple syrup into a cocktail shaker or large mixing jar. Add 4 dashes of orange bitters.

3

Shake to chill and slightly dilute

Fill the shaker with ice (about 8 cups crushed or cubed). Shake vigorously for 12–20 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels cold and you see dilution on the shaker surface. If using a pitcher, stir with ice for 20–30 seconds, then strain into a separate container to keep the mix chilled.

4

Strain and rest

Strain the chilled mixture into a clean container. If not serving immediately, refrigerate the batch up to 24 hours. Stir briefly before serving if separation occurs.

Glass Finishes & Garnish (for 4 servings)

5

Prepare salt rim

Pour 1/4 cup coarse kosher or margarita salt onto a small plate. If desired, mix in 1 tsp lime zest. Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass, then dip the rim into the salt, twisting to coat evenly. Set glasses aside.

6

Assemble and serve

Fill each rimmed glass with about 1 cup of fresh ice. Shake or stir the chilled margarita mix briefly and divide evenly among the 4 glasses (about 6 fl oz per serving). Garnish each glass with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.

Optional Variations / Add-ins

7

Skinny or agave-sweetened

Replace the 2 fl oz simple syrup with 1.5 fl oz agave syrup for a slightly different sweetness and flavor. Stir or shake as directed.

8

Orange-forward

Add 2 fl oz fresh orange juice to the batch for a brighter orange note; reduce simple syrup by 0.5 fl oz if you want to keep sweetness balanced.

9

Spicy jalapeño margarita

Muddle 3–4 jalapeño slices in the shaker before adding ice for a medium spice level, or add 6 slices for more heat. Proceed with shaking and straining; optionally discard the seeds for less heat.
