Preparing the Squid

Batter the Squid
In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Gradually add water to form a batter. Dip the squid rings into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.

Fry the Squid
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the battered squid rings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Blend the Hummus
In a blender or food processor, combine roasted red peppers, chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt. Blend until smooth. Adjust consistency with water if needed.
