Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Balsamic Glaze

In a small saucepan, bring balsamic vinegar to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer until it thickens and reduces to about half, approximately 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

  2. 2

    Cook the Basmati Rice

Rinse the basmati rice under cold water. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Asparagus

Trim the ends of the asparagus and toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and grill the asparagus for about 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender and charred.

  4. 4

    Sear the Salmon

Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon skin-side down in the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until cooked through.

  5. 5

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, serve a portion of basmati rice, top with grilled asparagus, and place a salmon fillet. Drizzle the basil balsamic glaze over the salmon and serve immediately.
