Pasta Preparation

Cook the Linguine
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the linguine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make the Spicy Marinara Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the crushed red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.

Add Tomatoes
Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and stir well. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Season the Sauce
Add the chopped fresh basil, salt, and black pepper to the sauce. Adjust seasoning to taste and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Combine and Serve

Add Shrimp to the Sauce
Add the shrimp to the sauce and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.

Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and additional fresh basil if desired.
