Method

Cooking the Salmon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with blackening seasoning.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  3. 3

    Cook the Salmon

Add the seasoned salmon fillets to the skillet, skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and has a dark charred crust.

Preparing the Salad

  1. 4

    Combine Salad Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine mixed field greens, halved cherry tomatoes, sliced black olives, and thinly sliced red onion. Toss gently to mix.

Making the Wasabi Aioli

  1. 5

    Mix the Aioli

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, wasabi paste, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

To serve, place a generous portion of the salad on each plate. Top with a blackened salmon fillet and drizzle with wasabi aioli.
