Prepare the Alfredo Sauce
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
- 3
Add Cheeses
Gradually whisk in the Parmesan, Provolone, Gruyère, and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheeses until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked linguine to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- 5
Serve
Serve immediately, garnished with additional grated cheese and black pepper if desired.
