Meatballs and Sauce
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- 3
Brown the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- 4
Make the Marinara Sauce
In the same skillet, add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, and dried basil. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- 5
Cook the Meatballs in Sauce
Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let them simmer in the sauce for about 20 minutes, or until cooked through.
- 6
Prepare the Herb Ricotta
In a small bowl, mix together ricotta cheese with additional chopped parsley and a pinch of salt.
- 7
Serve
Serve the meatballs topped with marinara sauce and a dollop of herb ricotta.
