Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients: marble rye bread, sliced corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Thousand Island dressing.

  2. 2

    Toast the Bread

Take 2 slices of marble rye bread and place them on a clean surface or cutting board.

  3. 3

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread 1 tablespoon of Thousand Island dressing on each slice of bread. On one slice, layer the corned beef evenly, followed by sauerkraut, and then top with Swiss cheese. Place the other slice of bread on top, dressing side down.

  4. 4

    Grill the Sandwich

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Lightly butter the outer sides of the sandwich. Place the sandwich in the skillet and grill for about 4-5 minutes until the bread is golden brown.

  5. 5

    Flip and Grill Again

Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula and grill the other side for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once both sides are golden and crispy, remove the sandwich from the skillet. Let it sit for a minute, then slice in half and serve with extra Thousand Island dressing on the side if desired.
