Method

Sandwich Preparation

  1. 1

    Assemble the Sandwich

Take two slices of bread and place two ounces of sliced ham on one slice. Cover with two ounces of cheddar cheese, then top with the second slice of bread to complete the sandwich.

  2. 2

    Butter the Bread

Spread one tablespoon of butter on the outside of each slice of bread to prepare for grilling.

Fries Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Fries

Preheat your oven or fryer according to the instructions on the frozen french fries package. If using an oven, spread the frozen fries on a baking sheet and drizzle with cooking oil, tossing to coat evenly. If using a fryer, follow the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 4

    Bake or Fry the Fries

Cook the fries until golden and crispy, following the recommended time on the package (typically 20-30 minutes).

Grilling the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Grill the Sandwich

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet, buttered side down. Grill for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate and Serve

Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute. Slice in half and serve with hot fries on the side. Season the fries with salt to taste.
