Method

Brown Bread

1

Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, honey, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.

2

Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix whole wheat flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.

3

Knead Dough

Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.

4

First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

5

Shape and Second Rise

Punch down the dough, shape into a loaf, and let it rise again for 30 minutes.

6

Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.

Irish Scones

7

Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

8

Add Wet Ingredients

Stir in milk and currants/raisins until just combined.

9

Shape Scones

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead for a few seconds. Pat into a circle about 1 inch thick, then cut into wedges.

10

Bake

Place scones on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden.

Apple Cake

11

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.

12

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

13

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat eggs and mix in oil. Add to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

14

Add Apples

Fold in the chopped apples gently.

15

Bake Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 45-50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Yoghurt Dip

16

Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine plain yoghurt, honey, and vanilla extract. Stir until well blended.

17

Serve

Chill until ready to serve.
