Method
Cooking the Bacon
- 1
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood smoked bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Flip the bacon occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
Preparing the Vegetables
- 2
Slice the Tomato
While the bacon is cooking, wash the large tomato and slice it into thin rounds. Set aside.
- 3
Prepare the Lettuce
Rinse the leafy lettuce under cold water, then pat dry with a paper towel. Tear the lettuce into smaller pieces if necessary, and set aside.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 4
Toast the Bread
Lightly toast the potato bread slices in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.
- 5
Spread Mayonnaise
Once the bread is toasted, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
- 6
Layer the Ingredients
On two of the slices (mayonnaise side up), layer the crispy bacon, followed by the sliced tomatoes, and then the leafy lettuce. Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, mayonnaise side down.
Serving
- 7
Serve the BLT
Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally and serve immediately, enjoying the delightful combination of flavors.
