Meatballs and Sauce
Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
- 2
Bake the Meatballs
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.
- 3
Heat the Sauce
While the meatballs are baking, pour the spaghetti sauce into a saucepan and heat over medium heat until simmering.
- 4
Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the saucepan with the spaghetti sauce. Stir to coat the meatballs in the sauce and let them simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- 5
Assemble the Sub
Slice the sub rolls open and place a few meatballs inside each roll. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- 6
Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled subs under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, and serve hot.
