Prepare the Patty
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the Burger
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and set it aside, leaving the rendered fat in the skillet.

Make the Jam
Chop the cooked bacon and return it to the skillet. Add brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the mixture thickens.

Toast the Buns
Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Assemble the Burger
Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun. Top with the cooked burger patty, a generous scoop of bacon jam, and sprinkle blue cheese crumbles on top. Add a slice of tomato and cover with the top half of the bun.
