Dough

Method

Prepare the Dough

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well to ensure even distribution.

  2. 2

    Add Wet Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the water and vegetable oil. Stir until the mixture starts to come together.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Prepare the Filling

  1. 4

    Cook the Meat

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground meat and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  2. 5

    Sauté Vegetables

Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the skillet with the meat. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

  3. 6

    Season the Filling

Stir in the soy sauce, black pepper, and chopped green onions. Cook for an additional 2 minutes and then remove from heat. Allow to cool slightly before adding the beaten egg.

Assemble and Cook the Pants

  1. 7

    Roll out the Dough

On a floured surface, roll out the rested dough into a thin sheet, about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into circles using a cookie cutter or a glass.

  2. 8

    Fill the Dough

Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.

  3. 9

    Cook the Pants

In a large pot of boiling water, gently drop the filled pants and cook for about 4-5 minutes until they float to the surface. Remove with a slotted spoon and serve hot.
