Fish Preparation

Prepare the Fish Coating
In a shallow bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

Coat the Fish
Dip each fish fillet into the wet mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring it is fully coated.
Cabbage Slaw Preparation

Mix Slaw Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, and chopped cilantro.

Make Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Combine Slaw
Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss until everything is evenly coated. Set aside to let flavors meld.
Frying Fish & Assembling Tacos

Heat Oil
In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Fry the Fish
Carefully place the coated fish fillets in the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Warm Tortillas
In a separate skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

Place a piece of fried fish on each tortilla, top with cabbage slaw, and add avocado slices. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
