Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Base Ingredients

In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 1 cup of pure Louisiana cane sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  2. 2

    Add Flavoring Ingredients

Stir in the root beer extract, vanilla extract, wintergreen extract, sarsaparilla extract, licorice extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg into the sweetened water. Mix well to ensure all flavors are evenly distributed.

Carbonation

  1. 3

    Combine with Carbonated Water

Once the mixture has cooled to room temperature, gently stir in 2 cups of carbonated water. Be careful not to agitate the mixture too much to preserve the carbonation.

Serving

  1. 4

    Serve Cold

Pour the root beer into chilled glasses and serve immediately. Optionally, add ice cubes for an extra refreshing beverage.
