Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Rigatoni

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fresh rigatoni and cook according to package instructions, usually about 2-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Bolognese Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion, carrot, and celery. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  2. 3

    Add Garlic and Meat

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Then add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until the beef is browned, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, dried oregano, and season with salt and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

  4. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should thicken and the flavors will meld together.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Once the sauce is ready, add the cooked rigatoni to the skillet with the Bolognese sauce. Toss to combine the pasta with the sauce thoroughly.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the pasta Bolognese in bowls, topped with grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy your meal!
