Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add 8 cups of cavatappi pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Do not rinse the pasta, as the starch helps the sauce adhere.
Sauce Preparation
- 3
Choose Your Sauce
Select one of the following sauces: Sugo, Butter, Pesto, Alfredo, or Mac & Cheese. Prepare the chosen sauce according to its recipe or package instructions.
- 4
Combine Sauce with Pasta
In a large mixing bowl or the pot used for cooking, combine the drained cavatappi pasta with the prepared sauce. Stir well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
Serving Suggestions
- 5
Add Toppings
Serve the pasta in bowls and top with grated Parmesan cheese, fresh basil leaves, and crushed red pepper flakes to taste.
- 6
Serve Immediately
Enjoy your freestyle pasta while it's warm, with optional garlic bread or a side salad.
