Method
Preparation and Assembly
Roast the Turkey
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
Prepare the turkey by removing any giblets and patting it dry with paper towels.
Rub the turkey all over with olive oil, and season generously with salt and pepper.
Place the turkey in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for about 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before pulling the meat apart.
Prepare the Vegetables and Condiments
While the turkey is resting, wash and slice the lettuce, tomato, and onion.
Cut the tomato into thin slices and the onion into rings.
Assemble the Sandwich
Take two slices of bread and spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each slice.
Layer on the pulled turkey, followed by a slice of provolone cheese.
Add lettuce, tomato slices, and onion rings on top.
Top with another slice of bread to complete the sandwich.
Repeat the assembly for the remaining sandwiches.
Serve immediately and enjoy your Homemade Turkey Sandwich!
