Mixed Berries

House-Made Whipped Cream

Method

Prepare Mixed Berries

  1. 1

    Wash the Berries

Rinse strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries under cold water in a colander. Gently shake off excess water.

  2. 2

    Cut the Strawberries

Remove the green tops from the strawberries and slice them into halves or quarters, depending on their size.

  3. 3

    Combine the Berries

In a large bowl, combine the strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Toss gently to mix.

Make the Whipped Cream

  1. 4

    Chill Equipment

Place the mixing bowl and beaters in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes to chill. This helps the cream whip faster.

  2. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In the chilled mixing bowl, pour in the heavy whipping cream. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.

  3. 6

    Whip the Cream

Using an electric mixer, beat the cream mixture on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 2-4 minutes. Be careful not to overwhip, as it can turn buttery.

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate the Berries

Spoon a generous portion of the mixed berries into serving bowls.

  2. 8

    Top with Whipped Cream

Add a dollop of the house-made whipped cream on top of the berries.

  3. 9

    Garnish and Enjoy

Optionally, garnish with a sprig of mint or a dusting of additional powdered sugar. Serve immediately and enjoy!
