Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Cut the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 equal wedges to create triangular chips.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla wedges in batches to the hot oil. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.

  4. 4

    Drain the Chips

Using a slotted spoon, remove the chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt to taste.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Prepare the Ingredients

Dice the ripe tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño pepper (removing seeds for less heat if desired). Chop the fresh cilantro.

  2. 6

    Mix the Salsa

In a mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro. Add lime juice and salt, then mix well.

  3. 7

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the salsa and adjust seasoning if necessary. Add more lime juice or salt to taste.
