Method
Cooking the Cheese Grits
Simmer
Reduce heat to low and cook grits for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
Cooking the Shrimp
Season the Shrimp
In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning until evenly coated.
Cook the Shrimp
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
Add Shrimp
Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through.
Make the Cajun Cream Sauce
Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in sliced green onions.
Making the Cornbread Waffle
Preheat Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Cook Waffles
Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter.
