Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients needed for the grilled cheese sandwich: sourdough bread, cheddar cheese, and butter.

Butter the Bread
Spread one tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.

Assemble the Sandwich
Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a cutting board. Layer two slices of cheddar cheese on top of each slice of bread. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.

Slice and Serve
Once cooked, remove the sandwiches from the skillet. Allow to cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve.

Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients for the tomato soup: canned tomatoes, onion, garlic, vegetable broth, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and basil.

Add Tomatoes and Broth
Pour in the canned tomatoes (including their juice) and vegetable broth. Stir to combine, then bring to a boil.

Simmer the Soup
Reduce heat to low and let the soup simmer for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Season the soup with salt, black pepper, and basil to taste. Blend the soup with an immersion blender until smooth, or transfer to a blender in batches.
