Main Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Salmon

  1. 1

    Season the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  3. 3

    Sear the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in the hot skillet, skin-side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy and the salmon is cooked halfway up the sides.

  4. 4

    Flip and Finish Cooking

Carefully flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Making the Lemon Butter Sauce

  1. 5

    Melt the Butter

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add the unsalted butter. Allow it to melt slowly.

  2. 6

    Add Garlic and Lemon

Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and lemon juice. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, stirring occasionally.

  3. 7

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in the lemon zest and chopped parsley. Remove from heat.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Serve the salmon fillets on plates and drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the top.

  2. 9

    Garnish

Optionally, garnish with additional chopped parsley and lemon slices before serving.
