Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a large pot, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pot, crumble it, and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pot.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

Add the chopped onion and celery to the pot and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  3. 3

    Add Potatoes and Broth

Add the diced potatoes and chicken broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  4. 4

    Incorporate Clams and Cream

Stir in the reserved clam juice, heavy cream, and canned clams. Season with salt and black pepper. Simmer for another 5 minutes until heated through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Ladle the chowder into bowls, top with crumbled bacon and chopped chives. Enjoy!
