Prepare the Beef Patty

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Assemble the Burger

Prepare the Bun
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

Add Lettuce and Tomato
On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf. Slice the tomato into thick slices and place one slice on top of the lettuce.

Add the Patty and Sauce
Once the patties are cooked, place one patty on top of the tomato slice. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the special sauce over each patty.

Complete the Burger
Top with the other half of the bun. Press down gently and serve immediately.
