Method

Prepare the Broth

  1. 1

    Make the Tom Yum Broth

In a large pot, combine the Tom Yum paste, coconut milk, vegetable broth, lime juice, fish sauce, and brown sugar. Stir well to combine.

  2. 2

    Simmer the Broth

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Allow it to simmer for about 10 minutes to develop the flavors.

Cook the Fish

  1. 3

    Season Striped Bass

Pat the striped bass fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. 4

    Add Fish to Broth

Carefully place the seasoned striped bass fillets into the simmering broth. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Prepare the Mushrooms

  1. 5

    Sauté Maitake Mushrooms

In a separate skillet, add a drizzle of oil over medium heat. Add the maitake mushrooms and sauté for about 4-5 minutes, until they are tender and slightly golden.

Serve

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

In a shallow bowl, ladle the Tom Yum broth with the cooked striped bass. Top with sautéed maitake mushrooms.

  2. 7

    Garnish and Enjoy

Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side. Enjoy your Suzuki Yaki!
