Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Infuse Lavender

Once the water has reached a boil, remove it from heat and add 1 cup of dried lavender buds. Stir gently to combine.

  3. 3

    Steep

Cover the pot and let the lavender steep in the hot water for about 15 minutes to extract the flavor.

  4. 4

    Strain the Mixture

After steeping, strain the lavender infusion through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl, discarding the lavender buds.

  5. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In the same pot, add the strained lavender infusion, 1 cup of fresh lemon juice, and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Serving

  1. 6

    Chill

Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the Murasaki in glasses over ice. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh lavender sprigs if desired.
