Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated fresh ginger, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all the ingredients are incorporated.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Trout

Place the Tasmanian ocean trout fillets in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the fish, ensuring it is well coated. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

If grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a pan, heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of olive oil.

  2. 4

    Cook the Trout

Remove the trout from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the fillets on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and has a nice golden crust.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate the Dish

Transfer the cooked trout fillets to a serving plate. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
