Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Black Snapper

Rinse the black snapper under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Make sure to remove any scales and innards if not already done.

  2. 2

    Season the Fish

Rub the salt and black pepper evenly over the entire surface of the fish, including the cavity.

Marinade

  1. 3

    Mix the Marinade

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 4

    Marinate the Fish

Place the seasoned black snapper in a large dish or a resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the fish, ensuring it's well-coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 6

    Prepare for Baking

Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Place the marinated fish on the tray, and sprinkle chopped green onions over the top.

  3. 7

    Bake the Fish

Bake the black snapper in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Serving

  1. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the fish from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve with lime wedges and garnish with chopped cilantro.
