Spicy Dipping Sauce

Method

Fried Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Set Up Dredging Station

In a shallow bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In a third bowl, combine the cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  3. 3

    Dredge the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the flour, coating it lightly. Then, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Finally, coat the pickle in the cornmeal mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the breaded pickles to the hot oil in batches, being sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried pickles with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.

Spicy Dipping Sauce

  1. 7

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, hot sauce, dill pickle juice, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined.

  2. 8

    Chill the Sauce

Cover the sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
