Main Ingredients

For Chipotle Aioli

Method

Preparing the Ingredients

  1. 1

    Clean the Octopus

Rinse the octopus under cold water, making sure to remove any debris. If necessary, you can remove the beak and eyes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Potatoes and Vegetables

Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes. Trim the ends of the brussel sprouts and cut them in half. Slice the onion into thin rings.

Cooking the Octopus

  1. 3

    Boil the Octopus

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and cook for about 45 minutes or until tender. Remove from water and let cool slightly before slicing into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Octopus

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced octopus and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until slightly crispy and golden. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

Cooking the Vegetables

  1. 5

    Cook the Potatoes

In a separate pot, boil the diced potatoes in salted water for about 10-12 minutes until fork-tender. Drain and set aside.

  2. 6

Sauté the Onions and Brussel Sprouts

In the same skillet used for the octopus, add the remaining olive oil. Sauté the onions until translucent, then add the brussel sprouts. Cook for about 7-10 minutes until the brussel sprouts are tender and golden.

Making Chipotle Aioli

  1. 7

    Prepare the Aioli

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, chipotle peppers (finely chopped), minced garlic, and lime juice. Mix well and season with salt to taste.

Serving the Dish

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

On a serving plate, arrange the sautéed octopus, potatoes, and brussel sprouts. Serve with a generous dollop of chipotle aioli on the side.
