Meatballs

Method

Prepare the Meatballs

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.

Prepare the Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 6

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are baked, add them to the marinara sauce, ensuring they are coated. Let them simmer together for another 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
