Brussels Sprouts
Toasted Almonds
Honey-hot Pepper Glaze
Method
Preparation of Brussels Sprouts
- 1
Trim and Halve Brussels Sprouts
Begin by trimming the ends of the Brussels sprouts and removing any yellow or damaged leaves. Then, cut each Brussels sprout in half lengthwise.
- 2
Season Brussels Sprouts
In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until they are well coated.
Toasting Almonds
- 3
Toast the Almonds
In a dry skillet over medium heat, add the sliced almonds. Toast them for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
Preparing the Honey-hot Pepper Glaze
- 4
Mix the Glaze
In a small bowl, combine honey, hot pepper flakes, apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt. Stir until smooth and well mixed.
Roasting and Serving
- 5
Roast Brussels Sprouts
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast them in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are crispy and caramelized, flipping them halfway through.
- 6
Combine and Serve
Once the Brussels sprouts are done roasting, remove them from the oven and drizzle with the honey-hot pepper glaze. Toss gently to coat. Finally, sprinkle the toasted almonds over the top and serve immediately.
