Method
Preparation
Trim and Halve the Brussels Sprouts
Start by washing the Brussels sprouts under cold water. Trim the stem ends and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Cut each Brussels sprout in half lengthwise.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will ensure that the Brussels sprouts roast evenly and develop a nice, crispy texture.
Cooking
Toss with Olive Oil and Seasonings
In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss well until all the sprouts are evenly coated.
Arrange on Baking Sheet
Spread the seasoned Brussels sprouts out in a single layer on a baking sheet. Make sure they are not overcrowded to allow for proper roasting.
Roast in the Oven
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for about 25-30 minutes, turning them halfway through. The Brussels sprouts should be golden brown and crispy on the outside.
Add Parmesan Cheese
In the last 5 minutes of roasting, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the Brussels sprouts. Return to the oven until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
Serving
Serve Hot
Once roasted, remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Serve them warm as a side dish or a healthy snack.
