Method
Bread Preparation
- 1
Prepare the dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter, warm water, honey (or sugar), and olive oil. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Mix dry ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour blend, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. If using, add herbs or spices.
- 3
Combine wet and dry ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
- 4
Let the dough rise
Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
- 5
Shape the bread
Once risen, punch down the dough and transfer it to a floured surface. Divide the dough into equal pieces and shape them into rounds or flatbreads.
- 6
Cook the bread
Preheat a skillet or oven to medium-high heat. Cook each piece of bread for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. If baking, preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- 7
Cool and serve
Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack before serving. Enjoy with your favorite dips or spreads!
