Dumplings

Method

Preparation

1

Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine flour, egg, and water. Knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.

2

Prepare the Filling

In a skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned. Season with salt and black pepper. Let it cool.

3

Shape the Dumplings

Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into squares. Place a small amount of the beef filling in the center of each square. Fold the corners over the filling and pinch to seal.

4

Cook the Dumplings

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the dumplings in batches for about 5-7 minutes or until they float. Remove with a slotted spoon.

5

Make the Sauce

In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the Turkish red pepper flakes and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

6

Prepare the Garlic Yoghurt

In a bowl, mix the plain yoghurt with minced garlic and salt.

7

Serve

Serve the dumplings topped with garlic yoghurt and the red pepper butter sauce. Enjoy with a side of sourdough.
