Kadayif Preparation
1. Prepare the Simple Syrup
In a saucepan, combine water and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice and cinnamon, then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
2. Prepare the Kadayif
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a large bowl, gently separate the shredded phyllo dough. Add the melted butter and mix well to coat the phyllo evenly.
3. Layer the Kadayif
In a greased baking dish, place half of the phyllo mixture evenly at the bottom. Spread the chopped Antep pistachios over the phyllo layer. Top with the remaining phyllo mixture, pressing down lightly to compact it.
4. Bake the Kadayif
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
5. Add Simple Syrup
Once baked, remove the Kadayif from the oven and immediately pour the cooled simple syrup evenly over the hot Kadayif. Allow it to soak for at least 30 minutes before serving.
