Base & Mix-ins

Method

Base & Mix-ins

  1. 1

    Combine and blend

Spoon the 1.5 cups Greek yogurt into a medium mixing bowl or blender. Add 3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter, 1 tablespoon honey and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. If using protein powder, add 1 scoop now. Whisk vigorously with a fork for 30–60 seconds until smooth and homogenous; or blend for 10–15 seconds in a blender for an extra-smooth texture.

  2. 2

Taste the yogurt mixture and add a pinch of sea salt or an extra 1/2 tablespoon honey if desired to balance sweetness. Adjust consistency: if mixture is very thick and you prefer slightly looser texture, stir in 1–2 teaspoons cold water or milk until desired consistency is reached.

Toppings

  1. 3

    Prepare banana

Peel the banana and slice into 1/4-inch rounds. Reserve a few slices for presentation and fan the rest if desired.

  2. 4

    Toast almonds (optional)

If you prefer warmed nuts, heat a small dry skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons almonds and toast, stirring constantly, 2–3 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden. Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly; chop if using whole almonds and you want smaller pieces.

  3. 5

    Make peanut butter drizzle

Place 1 tablespoon peanut butter and 1 teaspoon water in a small bowl. Microwave for 8–12 seconds or warm gently over a double boiler; stir vigorously until smooth and pourable. Add more water, a few drops at a time, if too thick.

  4. 6

Assemble the bowl: Spoon the blended peanut-butter yogurt into a serving bowl, smoothing the top. Arrange banana slices on one side. Sprinkle 1/2 cup granola over another area, then scatter 2 tablespoons almonds, 1 teaspoon cacao nibs and 1 teaspoon chia seeds across the top for texture contrast.

  5. 7

Finish by drizzling the warmed peanut butter over the bowl in a thin stream using a spoon or small squeeze bottle. Optionally, add a light pinch of sea salt over the top to enhance flavors.
