Vegan Rice

Method

Prepare Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sriracha sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the steak to the bowl, ensuring it is well coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip off. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust time to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Prepare Vegan Rice

  1. 3

    Cook the Rice

In a saucepan, combine basmati rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Prepare Peas

  1. 4

    Sauté the Peas

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the frozen peas and salt. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the peas are heated through and tender.

Prepare Vegan Cabbage

  1. 5

    Sauté the Cabbage

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shredded cabbage and sauté for about 5 minutes, until it begins to soften. Stir in apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Continue to cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
