Method
Cocktail
- 1
Muddle
Place the thinly sliced cucumber (about 1 cup) into a cocktail shaker. Add the simple syrup and use a muddler to gently but firmly muddle the cucumber until fragrant and broken down (about 15–20 seconds). Aim to release cucumber juice without pulverizing into a puree.
- 2
Combine
Add Tito's Vodka (2 oz) and fresh lime juice (0.75 oz) to the shaker with the muddled cucumber. Add a generous handful of ice (about 1 cup) to the shaker.
- 3
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and properly diluted.
- 4
Strain
Fill a rocks glass with fresh ice. Double-strain the shaken mixture into the glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove cucumber solids and seeds, leaving a clear, flavored spirit base over the ice.
- 5
Top
Carefully top the strained cocktail with chilled sparkling brut (about 2 oz). Pour slowly to preserve effervescence and create a light fizz on top.
- 6
Garnish & Serve
Garnish with a cucumber wheel or ribbon placed on the rim or floated on the surface, and add a lime wedge on the rim. Serve immediately with a short stir (1–2 gentle turns) if desired to integrate the top layer.
