Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the Italian bread into approximately 1/2 inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Brush each slice of bread with olive oil on both sides. Place them on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Add Basil and Garlic
Chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

Add salt and black pepper to the tomato mixture. Toss everything together gently to combine.

Top the Bread
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. Spoon the tomato mixture generously over each slice.
