Method
Prepare the Waffle Fries
- 1
Cook the Waffle Fries
Preheat the oven or fryer according to package instructions for the waffle fries. If baking, spread fries on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through. If frying, heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt.
Assemble the Double Wide Dog
- 2
Cook the Hot Dogs
Grill or boil the footlong hot dogs until heated through and slightly charred, about 5-7 minutes.
- 3
Prepare the Sloppy Joe
If using homemade Sloppy Joe, prepare it according to your recipe or heat up the canned version in a saucepan over medium heat until hot.
- 4
Assemble the Dog
Place one hot dog in each bun. On one side of the first dog, top with a generous scoop of Sloppy Joe, fried banana peppers, and shredded cheese. On the other side, add chili, a tablespoon of relish, and a drizzle of dijonnaise.
- 5
Serve
Serve the Double Wide Dog with a side of crispy waffle fries.
