Waffles and Chicken
Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Waffles
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and melted butter. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Preheat a waffle iron and cook waffles according to manufacturer's instructions.
- 2
Prepare the Chicken
Fry the chicken tenders until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- 3
Make the Bourbon Pecan Maple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup, chopped pecans, and a splash of bourbon. Heat over low until warmed and pecans are fragrant.
- 4
Make the Blueberry Compote
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine blueberries with a tablespoon of water. Cook until the blueberries burst and create a saucy consistency, about 5 minutes.
