Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground prime rib beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Grill the Patties

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until they reach your desired doneness.

Caramelizing Pineapple

  1. 4

    Sauté Pineapple

In a separate skillet over medium heat, add a little oil if desired and place the pineapple slices in the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are caramelized and have grill marks.

Making the Hawaiian Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, pineapple juice, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a burger patty, a slice of havarti cheese, a caramelized pineapple slice, and a drizzle of the Hawaiian sauce. Top with a few tomato slices and cover with the top half of the bun.
