Fish Fillet

Method

Preparing the Tartar Sauce

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, finely chopped dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, and fresh dill. Mix well until fully combined.

  2. 2

    Season

Add salt and black pepper to the tartar sauce mixture. Stir again and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Preparing the Fish Fillets

  1. 3

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add beer while mixing until a smooth batter forms.

  2. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering (about 350°F or 175°C).

  3. 5

    Batter the Fish

Dip each fish fillet into the beer batter, allowing excess batter to drip off.

  4. 6

    Fry the Fish

Carefully place the battered fish fillets into the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 7

    Prepare the Buns

Lightly toast the buns on a pan or grill until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Add Lettuce and Tomato

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato.

  3. 9

    Add Fish Fillet

Place a crispy fish fillet on top of the lettuce and tomato.

  4. 10

    Top with Tartar Sauce

Generously spread the prepared tartar sauce over the fish fillet.

  5. 11

    Complete the Sandwich

Cover with the top half of the bun and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
