Method
Chicken Marinade
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk well until all ingredients are blended.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Add the chicken breasts to the buttermilk mixture, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Chicken Preparation
- 3
Prepare the Coating
In a shallow dish, mix together the all-purpose flour, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- 4
Bread the Chicken
Remove chicken breasts from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Dredge each breast in the flour mixture, pressing down to ensure a good coating.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Sandwich Assembly
- 6
Toast the Buns
Lightly toast the burger buns in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.
- 7
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a piece of fried chicken on each bun, then top with lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles. Cover with the top half of the bun.
