Pasta Preparation

- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Do not rinse, as this will wash away the starch that helps the sauce adhere.
Meat Sauce Preparation
- 3
Sauté the Aromatics
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- 4
Cook the Ground Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- 5
Combine with Tomato Sauce
Stir in the tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes. Add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Serve the Dish
Once the sauce has thickened, combine it with the drained pasta in the skillet. Toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
